Once a Leader, U.S. Lags in College Degrees
07/23/2010:  Adding to a drumbeat of concern about the nation’s dismal college-completion rates, the College Board warned Thursday that the growing gap between the United States and other countries threatens to undermine American economic competitiveness.  The United States used to lead the world in the number of 25- to 34-year-olds with college degrees. Now it ranks 12th among 36 developed nations.

Cross-Country Motor Racing Event to Raise Awareness and Money for Dropout Prevention
08/02/2010: The Saxena Family Foundation, an Austin-based private non-profit organization, and Communities in School (CIS), the nation's largest organization dedicated to dropout prevention, announced a partnership today to sponsor a cross-country motor racing event called "The Race to Win" to raise awareness and money for helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life. The goal is to raise at least $100,000 and one hundred per cent of all money goes to CIS and its affiliates around the nation. $50,000 has already been committed by the Saxena Foundation. Organization is well underway for the which will take place in May 2011.

"The Race to Win" Announces Race Car for its Cross Country Endurance and Track Race Event
08/02/2010: Organizers of The Race to Win, the cross-country race to raise awareness and money for helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life, announced today that they will be racing a Porsche GT3 Cup car for the planned 2011 race. Known as a "Porsche 911 for those with no fear", the 911 GT3 Cup cars are based on the production 911 GT3 model, featuring modifications necessary for racing on professional race circuits such as full roll cage, fire extinguishing system, race seats, and a rally computer. Powered by a water-cooled six-cylinder, 3.5 liter engine, the car delivers 420 bhp and is devoid of any unnecessary items that would add weight to the car such as sound deadening, rear seats, and stereo system.
