An Affordable Alternative to Home Health Care, Nursing Homes or Assisted Living Facilities

Environment-Home away from Home

Research shows that seniors who remain at home live longer and happier lives than do people of similar circumstances that are forced to leave their homes. Mercury can help your loved one remain in the comfort and privacy of their homes for much longer periods of time.

Mercury Adult Care is not designed to just babysit your loved one. We have too much respect for seniors to view them in that manner. Mercury is designed to help the senior citizens and the caregiver have the break they both deserve and to keep families together. Some of the ways Mercury accomplishes this is by creating a positive social environment while keeping health related needs in mind. Their care is coordinated so that you can spend less time worrying and more time spending quality time with your loved one.

What you can expect

Some of the services you can expect at Mercury Adult Care are events, activities and care to make sure that your loved one is taken care of physically as well as emotionally. Mercury has elegant dining rooms, putting greens and gardens, beauty salons and spas, cafés, libraries and media rooms. They are all designed with your loved one’s interests in mind.

Mercury realizes that it’s not a just a senior center. It’s a place where your loved one will spend most of their day. Our goal is to provide a safe and pleasant environment. We help your loved one think of the center as a place of their own. At Mercury your loved one will have a place to socialize and be involved in activities they enjoy, bringing direct benefits to their physical and emotional health.

Keeping your family together

Mercury Adult Care will help your loved ones stay in their homes and close to their family. Mercury will also help you receive the help with care and personal support you need to relax and continue to give your family your best.

Fun but responsible

Fun but responsible is a term that best describes the way of thinking at Mercury. We believe in good times shared with special friends but we are also aware of the great responsibility of properly taking care of your loved ones. Therefore, all our centers have registered nurses and qualified staff on location to care not only with skill and experience but with kindness. Additionally, other staff members from activities coordinators to beauticians are experienced in working with seniors and their needs.

Making sure that your loved one is being taken care of physically and emotionally is the priority at Mercury Adult Care.

Intergenerational Bonding

At Mercury we believe that life is an ongoing, learning experience. We strongly feel that your loved ones have much to tell and contribute, especially to the younger generation. As a result we have implemented Intergenerational Bonding that allows seniors and young people to share their experiences. In today’s hectic life, it is rare that elderly persons and young people interact on a daily basis. We also feel that this interaction can bring great rewards for both groups.

They can learn from each other by sharing their feelings, ideas, experiences, skills and affection.

More than just a reunion

Intergenerational Bonding is much more than an informal or casual get-together. The meetings are structured to encourage these interactions and allow our seniors to participate fully. We encourage all seniors, including disabled and frail elders to participate if they are interested.

Children of all ages are invited to participate. The seniors and the children are matched appropriately so they can enjoy activities especially designed for both. Some of the activities include

  • Seniors visit children’s day care centers. They help the daycare staff with feeding and during naptime.
  • Elementary school going children and seniors are partnered up as pen-pals.
  • Senior students from local high schools drop by during the week to visit seniors. They participate in letter writing, crafts and helping with planned activities and events.

Other popular activities include an exercise group, sing-a-long sessions, decorations and games. Many seniors look forward to these interactions as they often do not have the opportunity to interact with grandchildren on an on-going basis.
